From the age of 35 onwards, riders are classified as Masters or Vets. It is widely accepted that from around this age rider performance tends to naturally begin to reduce. This is where a good Masters cycling coach comes in. With the right coach, the physiological drop off associated with ageing can be drastically slowed down. In fact, in our experience, riders who have not previously had quality coaching often see performance increases and are able to achieve goals way beyond the realms they assumed were possible.
Riders that fit into the over 35 Masters/Vets category often have extremely busy lives, with family and work commitments. This often makes fitting in quality training sessions quite difficult, especially in the winter months where weather plays its part.
At Ride Revolution we have a great deal of experience with Masters cycle coaching, with numerous national medals across a range of disciplines. Our coaches go to great lengths to ensure training programmes are well constructed and tuned to suit the individual riders, their goals, circumstances and take into account time constraints so that riders get the absolute best out of their available time.
We ensure that:
- A unique training plan based on rider’s individual needs is provided. We use the ever popular TrainingPeaks platform making for easy setting and management of sessions
We have coached a wide range of Masters riders with varied goals. These include:
- Riders who are new to the sport and need not only a coach, but also support and help from our rider liaison, Sarah Hooper.
- Sportive riders looking to take on specific challenges.
- Riders who are looking to get involved in racing.
- Racing athletes who are looking for performance improvements to be more competitive.
- Leisure cyclists looking to improve overall fitness, managing weight and in general aiming for a healthier lifestyle.
Should you not be doing this with all riders? If I was reading several of these sections I might think that this only applies to masters riders. I think you need to do this as an overarching statement for all disciplines
How our Cycling Coaching works
Initial Consultation
From your initial enquiry with us, our Head Coach, Jake Hales will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. We like to get a good understanding of your current situation, goals, style and general cycling history. Jake will then recommend the best RideRevolution coach for your needs, all are skilled and experienced.
Where are you at?
Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.
And so it begins..
Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your ride data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each rider.
Ongoing Development
Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
