It would be fair to say road racing is our flesh and blood. The majority of our coaches come from or still participate in road racing. Our coaching roster boasts ex continental professional cyclists, current and past national champions at Masters level for both road and criterium racing, elite amateur female road racers and current and past elite amateur male riders. Experience is certainly something we are not short of. However, unlike some other coaches, who may be good at racing, but lack the scientific knowledge to effectively implement a structured training plan, our coaches are carefully selected. Among our roster we boast; Masters Degrees in Sports Science, Trainingpeaks University qualifications and British Cycling coaching qualifications to add to the real world racing experience. Coached clients vary from the budding new amateur, youth and junior riders, elite amateurs racing on the UK scene across all categories, to aspiring professionals plying their trade on the European circuit. Our portfolio of riders now stretches well beyond the UK, with riders in multiple countries including the USA, Singapore and Denmark to name a few.

On the road racing side, we are also able to offer the unique opportunity for racers to represent our fully supported race team, which offers an additional benefit to coached riders, regardless of their level. We are offer a self-funded structure and development pathway, allowing riders to work their way up through the categories in our relevant sub teams, whilst also benefiting from our exciting brand partnerships with some of cycling’s  most prominent brands – such as FFWD wheels, ABUS helmet, OTE nutrition – ensuring a FUN, EFFECTIVE and REWARDING environment for our coached athletes.

Road race coaching is led by our head coach, Jake Hales and can be delivered across any of our three cycling specific tiers of coaching. Prices start from as little as £90 per month, with no minimum term and increase in line with the package level and the experience of the coach.

We also have our very own rider liaison support, Sarah Hooper, who is on hand to help all our riders, but with particular focus on those new to racing. Registering with British Cycling, choosing and entering races can be a little daunting if you are a beginner, Sarah is here to help.

How our Cycling Coaching works

Step 1

Initial Consultation

From your initial enquiry with us, our Head Coach, Jake Hales will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. We like to get a good understanding of your current situation, goals, style and general cycling history. Jake will then recommend the best RideRevolution coach for your needs, all are skilled and experienced.

Step 2

Where are you at?

Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.

Step 3

And so it begins..

Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your ride data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each rider.

Step 4

Ongoing Development

Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
