Whether you have grand plans to take on a major event such as The Etape, Majorca 312, Marmotte or Haute Route, enter into an audax, ultra-endurance events, have a cycling holiday planned or want to train for your local sportive, Ride Revolution coaching can help. These events all require you to ride for long hours, sometimes for multiple days, so an effective training can really make a big difference.
As we see it, training for a major event such as those listed above, is very similar to training for a race. The demands of the event may differ, but the principles remain the same; you must be as fit as possible in the specific fitness areas required for the target event. One factor that is common among the clients we work with in this area is limited time availability to train. Many of our clients tackling such events are doing so on less than eight hours a week of riding, usually even less. With these events often requiring over eight hours on the bike, how is it best to tackle training?
With the help of a coach who understands how to specifically target your Functional Threshold Power (FTP), VO2 max and stamina, whilst also educating you to effectively fuel for a full day in the saddle, you would be amazed at the vast improvements in performance you can see. With structured, targeted training, we regularly see a 25% increase in FTP, all without necessarily increasing weekly hours on the bike. Don’t have a power meter and want to be guided off heart rate or even just want to ride to feel, we can still put together a programme to help you achieve your goals.
At Ride Revolution we offer affordable coaching without sign up fees or minimum contract terms, instead working on a rolling monthly contract, meaning we can help you as a one off to build towards your goals. It is also possible to work in a combination of structured and free sessions if you wish. We appreciate that sometimes you just want to enjoy riding your bike.

How our Cycling Coaching works
Initial Consultation
From your initial enquiry with us, our Head Coach, Jake Hales will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. We like to get a good understanding of your current situation, goals, style and general cycling history. Jake will then recommend the best RideRevolution coach for your needs, all are skilled and experienced.
Where are you at?
Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.
And so it begins..
Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your ride data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each rider.
Ongoing Development
Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
