Triathlon Coaching was added to our offering in 2020 after Charlie Passfield and Emily  Robertson joined our coaching roster. Initially working with some local triathletes to help with their running and cycling, we quickly built up a core group of tri clients off the back of recommendations by happy clients.

In 2021, we were lucky enough to be asked by professional long-distance triathlete, Kieran Lindars to help him out with his training. He wanted a cycling specific coach to take control of his bike training, as he didn’t feel that triathlon specific coaches were offering a high enough standard of coaching on the bike side. We saw a gap in the market and quickly began to pursue it, offering cycling only training for triathletes as part of their overall training approach. This enabled us to come at things from a slightly different angle and with great success. Since he began with us, Kieran has climbed the ranks of world triathlon quickly. From a starting position of 250th in the world, he now sits comfortably inside the top 50 and is also the current European Long Course Triathlon champion.

Our coaches Charlie and Emily continue to help triathlon athletes with their bike and run training, but a new addition to our offering for 2023 is a complete package covering all three disciplines. Kieran himself had already been providing running and swimming advice to triathletes all over the world before becoming one of our clients. In 2023, after seeing a huge increase in triathlon demand off the back of Kieran’s results, we took the step of adding him to our coaching roster to ensure that we can offer a complete triathlon coaching package under one roof.

We feel we have a unique way to deliver triathlon coaching. We offer the option to be helped in one, two or three disciplines, either with one coach covering all three aspects, or a shared coach approach, where run and swim coaching are done by a tri coach and the bike side by a cycle coach. This option is open to all athletes and can be discussed during your initial consultation.

Due to the high demand, we are seeing off the back of Kieran’s results and the limited spaces we have available, we cannot guarantee we will have capacity to take on further clients, so enquire today to ensure that you don’t miss out.

How our Triathlon Coaching works

Step 1

Initial Consultation

From your initial enquiry with us, our Head Coach, Jake Hales will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. We like to get a good understanding of your current situation, goals, style and general cycling history. Jake will then recommend the best RideRevolution coach for your needs, all are skilled and experienced.

Step 2

Where are you at?

Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.

Step 3

And so it begins..

Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your ride data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each rider.

Step 4

Ongoing Development

Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
